The card bears three stamps: one from the Yugoslav Student Union, another from the National Union of Syrian Students in Yugoslavia (in English and Arabic), and the third with the inscription "Praha ČSSR" (Czechoslovak Socialist Republic), the abbreviation UIE in French (Union Internationale des Étudiants – International Union of Students), its English equivalent IUS, as well as the letters MCC (meaning unknown) and the Arabic letters ا-ط-ع, representing the Federation of Arab Students. The card was valid for the year 1970.
The card states that it was issued to the bearer in accordance with the decision of the World Student Congress of 1946.
It entitles the bearer to reductions in railway fares, accommodation costs, and other benefits negotiated for students by the International Union of Students.
The addresses of member organizations are listed in the annual booklet detailing special benefits available to holders of this card.
In accordance with the decision of the IUS Congress, all national student unions are requested to provide the bearer with all possible services and facilities.
The mission of the International Union of Students, based on representative student organizations from various countries, is to defend students’ rights and interests, promote improvements in their educational standards and general welfare, and prepare them for their roles as democratic citizens.
