A photograph of Mr. Hicham Naoulo and a university colleague dressed in traditional Arab attire after a folk performance in Sisak, marking Syria's Evacuation Day on April 17, 1946, when the last French soldier left Syrian territory. In 1946, France recognized Syrian independence following its occupation that began in July 1941. One of the activities of the ISFC (International Student Friendship Club, MSKP) was the celebration of national days of the countries from which the students came.
