Join Jutro for an online conversation titled “Opening the Non-Aligned Archive: INTO THE WORLD”, taking place on Monday, May 5th at 5 PM CET via Zoom.
The Non-Aligned Archive is a community-based initiative focused on researching, preserving, and promoting the heritage of African, Asian, and American diasporas in Croatia. This event will offer insights into the archive, ongoing research, and broader practices of cultural heritage work across communities.

👤 About the speakers:

Mutanu Kyany’a works at the intersection of technology, cultural heritage, and community. As Head of Programs at African Digital Heritage, she leads projects like the Gede Digitization Project, Kamirithu Theatre Virtual Reconstruction, and the Talking Objects Archive—reimagining how African communities engage with archives.

Rea Drvar is a cultural anthropologist and museologist with a focus on internal migration, identity, and performance studies. She currently curates ethnographic collections at the Prigorje Museum.

Zainab Gaafar is an architect and exhibition designer based in Khartoum. She leads Studio Urban and is developing a new museum for the Safeguarding Sudan’s Living Heritage project, exploring the role of museums in conflict zones and community-centered heritage preservation.
The program is supported by the City of Zagreb, Moleskine Foundation, and Kultura Nova Foundation, and is organized in partnership with the Subversive Film Festival.
